Romans 12:2 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

I got up in the morning and had a quick ride to the outdoor store to get some mosquito netting for our windows. It has been so hot here lately and we haven’t been able to keep the windows open for air circulation because of the wasps that are all over the place. After returning back to the church I had breakfast, found the kids who played some more around Kinderstadt. We then had to say our goodbyes to all the children that came for the weekend. All three of our kids seemed to really enjoy the weekend and the sleepover. Later in the afternoon Jeff put the screens up on the window, with the help of René, so we now have a wonderful breeze that blows through the apartment. I know we are enjoying them and we are pretty sure that the next folks to stay in this apartment will feel the same.

Our new screens

I am amazed at how different I feel. I feel more free to make mistakes, I feel accepted by the people around me (even though I can’t speak their language), and I feel helpful. I have had a few people tell me that they would like to practice speaking English to me, so we do and usually I am trying to respond in German and they try in English. This whole journey is God’s will and I am loving the challenges that come along with it. All of what we are doing is good and perfect because it is His plan, not ours. We learned very early on that so long as we don’t try to push our plans, God’s plan for our family always surfaces and works out the way it should—so we continue to embrace that and laugh at challenges that come our because He wants us to be challenged every day and He wants us to see certain things, do certain things, and meet certain people. It is all part of His plan, we just are blessed to go along for the ride.

To end the wonderful weekend of Kinderbibeltage, there was a fashion show to show off all of the awesome tie-dyed clothing that the children made over the weekend. Anjali and Lucia were models in the show! It was so much fun with a full light show and music.
